"Marc De Cock: the obsession for perfection and ultimate class"

Just like in his career as a successful businessman, in his incredibly successful track record as a pigeon enthusiast, Marc De Cock only has eyes for one thing: to aim for perfection. The sky is the limit; the ultimate pigeon is the goal.
Often, the question is asked how Marc De Cock manages to combine pigeon racing with managing his company, Cock's Meat products. The answer is as simple as it is revealing: pure passion and the irresistible urge to be nothing less than the very best in both fields. As the leading man of one of the largest Belgian meat product companies, he knows all too well that the road to the absolute top is paved solely with top quality. Just like his company, he has systematically developed his dovecot to become one of the strongest colonies in the world…
In doing so, his big inspiration was Charles De Cock, Marc’s grandfather. This flamboyant businessman ignited the passion for pigeons in his grandson. At a very young age, Marc was given a small dovecot with eight young pigeons. The passion that he thus sparked in the young boy has resulted, many years later, in a dovecot that is world-famous for its clever care and the stunning results. Back in 1972, at a very young age, Marc already took on the challenge: he would build the perfect dovecot – a dovecot like no one had ever seen before. He went to the very best dovecot maker, explained his ideas and executed his plans – not realising yet that he was writing history.
When this perfect dovecot was ready, he made a next, logical decision: this dovecot was only for the very best pigeons. World-class is what he envisaged, and as it turns out today, world-class is what he has…
Perhaps this is the only constant element in Marc De Cock’s success story: he wants to and will always continue to improve himself. If a pigeon is born somewhere that is just a touch better, Marc will do everything he needs to in order to include it in his dovecot. Money is no objection; only the very best will do. For example, over recent years, he discovered the De Rauw-Sablon breed. He thought “no half work”, so he bought the entire collection. Marcel Aelbrecht’s “flying attic” achieved brilliant results, and Marc also acquired this entire collection of pigeons: "de Marseille", "de Crack", "de Patron", "Albert en Paola", "de Smallen", "Goudklompje"... One by one, prize-winning pigeons that Marc wanted, looked for and found. No wonder that experts and buyers from Belgium and far beyond praise the De Cock dovecot for its extensive and unique collection. What’s more, leading pigeon enthusiasts turn to the breeding dovecots of Marc De Cock for their supply. After all, where else can you find better and stronger pigeons...
Hardly 44 years old, a junior in the ‘aging’ pigeon sport, he already displays very extensive experience within the field of his passion for pigeons, thus embodying the saying "the youth is the future". Perhaps this is also the reason why he, just like his grandfather did, passes this passion on within his own family, thus turning his sport into a true family sport.
